The Ra Charmian band is run by Ra Charmian Toia-Booth and Hayden Booth, and includes a power-house of award winning musicians who can bring you nothing short of extraordinary musical experiences
Ra Charmian Toia-Booth
Ra is an extremely experienced performer and vocalist, having performed around the world for almost 10 years before returning to her home country of New Zealand.
Since being back in NZ Ra has been a featured artist on Radio New Zealand, Air New Zealand and radio stations around the country, as well as performing on TV and radio. For example she currently sings the 2023 NZ Radio Award winning jingle, ‘You’ve Sure Got A Friend In The Breeze’ for The Breeze across New Zealand.
When she’s not packing the dance floors she teaches singing and performance, and coaches local choirs and singing groups who you might even see performing at your local market!
Ra and her husband Hayden are the main points of contact for the band and look after all the organisation and admin.
Hayden Booth
Hayden has toured and performed internationally for many years and has played in bands opening for the likes of John Mayer, Jools Holland and Paul Weller.
Hayden has won 2 international awards for his media production work for major brands and uses that experience to make sure the sound, lighting and all the tech is the best it can possibly be.
He’s also known as one of the best guitarists around and has played on many TV and radio ads over the years.
He takes the lead on a few male vocal bangers, and his guitar solos will have you breaking out your air guitar!
Hayden’s also a main point of contact for the band along with Ra.
The Band
The 4 to 5 piece band is made up of New Zealand’s absolute top musicians. They’re all NZ music award winners or nominees, and have worked with the likes of Neil Finn, Gin Wigmore, The Black Eyed Peas, Christina Agulera and a whole host of NZ’s top acts.
The 2023 lineup includes Alistair Deverick (Neil Finn, Ladyhawke, The Ruby Suns), Dan Antunovich (Black Eyed Peas, Christina Agulera, Kitaro) and Finn Scholes (Gin Wigmore, Neil Finn, and Avalanche City).
